The first India vs South Africa 2025 ODI cricket match will be played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium will host the second match of the series while the third will take place at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. All the matches will begin at 1:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel – both of whom are a part of the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League – are also a part of India’s Test team against South Africa. They are currently playing in the second match of the series against the Proteas.
Both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel were also named in India’s ODI squad for the three-match series against Australia last month. However, they did not play in any of the matches in the series Down Under.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has played just one ODI match so far, making his debut earlier this year against England. The left-handed opener has made 1526 runs at an average of 52.62 and a strike rate of 85.97 in his List A career.
Dhruv Jurel, meanwhile, is yet to make his ODI debut for India. He has scored 189 runs in 10 List A matches at an average of 47.25 and a strike rate of 92.19.

KL Rahul: India’s Key Anchor for the South Africa Tour
As India gears up for the much-anticipated tour of South Africa, all eyes naturally drift toward KL Rahul — a player jiska role har format mein constantly evolve hota ja raha hai, lekin impact hamesha noticeable hota hai. Rahul ki calm presence, technical solidity, aur adaptability South African conditions mein India ke liye ek huge asset ban sakti hai.
1. Middle-Order Stability ka Pillar
Recent matches mein Rahul ne convincingly prove kiya hai ki wo sirf ek top-order batter nahi, balki ek dependable middle-order backbone bhi ban chuke hain. Bouncy pitches, seam movement, aur unpredictable bounce South Africa ka trademark hai — aur Rahul ki tight technique yahan unhe perfect fit banati hai.
2. Pressure Situations ka Specialist
South Africa ke against matches usually high-pressure hote hain. Rahul ki sabse badi strength ye hai ki wo collapse ke time par innings ko sambhalna jaante hain. Unka strike-rotation game strong hai, aur jab accelerate karna ho, toh wo clean hitting bhi nikaal lete hain.
3. Wicketkeeping Option: Team ke Balance ko Boost
Agar team management unhe wicketkeeper-batter ke role mein use karta hai, toh India ka combination aur flexible ho jata hai. Extra bowler ya all-rounder add karne ka option milta hai, jo SA conditions mein ek huge advantage hai.
4. Recent Form Looking Solid
Past few months mein Rahul ka form impressive raha hai — consistent scores, maturity, aur match-awareness clearly dikha hai. South Africa jaise tough environment mein yeh confidence unke game ko aur sharpen karega.
5. Leadership Aura
Even without captaincy, Rahul ka on-field composure younger players ko calm rakhta hai. SA tour hamesha challenging hota hai, toh senior players ka guidance crucial role play karega.
What to Expect from KL Rahul on This Tour
- Long, stabilizing innings in ODIs and Tests.
- Flexible batting role — top-order ya middle depending on team strategy.
- Possible wicketkeeping to strengthen team balance.
- Match-finishing responsibilities, especially in tight chases.
Agar Rahul apna natural game khelte hain — patience + precision — toh wo iss series ke biggest Indian performers ban sakte hain.
